Camp Lo is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ski Beatz, Dynasty, Digable Planets and Aesop Rock. Those roots explain a lot about how Camp Lo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jeru the Damaja, Brand Nubian, Pete Rock, Lords of the Underground and Little Brother, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Wiz Khalifa and Will Smith, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Camp Lo, reaching back through Ski Beatz and forward to Wiz Khalifa.
