Nailbomb

Nailbomb is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Andreas Kisser and Sepultura. Those roots explain a lot about how Nailbomb arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Pantera, Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly, Superjoint Ritual and Fear Factory, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Nailbomb, reaching back through Andreas Kisser. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.

Background

Nailbomb is an American heavy metal band formed in 1993 as a side project by Brazilian musician Max Cavalera and British musician Alex Newport of Fudge Tunnel. They play a combination of primarily industrial metal and thrash metal, with elements of crust punk and sludge metal. The band recorded one studio album, Point Blank, and played a warmup live performance and their only official gig for 29 years at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air Festival two days later, after which the band disbanded. The band reunited for the first time in 29 years in Tempe, Arizona in November 2024.
