Prong is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Bad Brains, Killing Joke, Discharge, Celtic Frost and Kreator. Those roots explain a lot about how Prong arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Fear Factory, Flotsam and Jetsam, Ministry, Helmet and Sacred Reich, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Demon Hunter, Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, White Zombie and Korn, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 53 connections around Prong, reaching back through Bad Brains and forward to Demon Hunter.
