Heavy metal

3 Inches of Blood is a Heavy metal act. Their sound grew out of Saxon, Metallica, Goatwhore, Death Angel and Slipknot. Those roots explain a lot about how 3 Inches of Blood arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Iced Earth, Grave Digger, Sanctuary, Demons & Wizards and Warbringer, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Chthonic, DevilDriver, Shadows Fall and Havok, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around 3 Inches of Blood, reaching back through Saxon and forward to Chthonic.
