Shadows Fall is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Throwdown, Darkest Hour and Fear Factory. Those roots explain a lot about how Shadows Fall arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as God Forbid, All That Remains, Bleeding Through, Darkest Hour and Chimaira, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into As I Lay Dying, Jaya the Cat, Chimaira, Darkest Hour and All That Remains, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 54 connections around Shadows Fall, reaching back through Lamb of God and forward to As I Lay Dying. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
