Chimaira is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ill Niño, Accept, Deftones, Machine Head and Fear Factory. Those roots explain a lot about how Chimaira arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Machine Head, Roadrunner United, Soulfly, Dry Kill Logic and 36 Crazyfists, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bloodsimple, Bleeding Through and Hatesphere, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 51 connections around Chimaira, reaching back through Ill Niño and forward to Bloodsimple. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
