Live is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Talking Heads, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Johnny Cash, Jerry Harrison and Counting Crows. Those roots explain a lot about how Live arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Collective Soul, Tonic, Days of the New, Better Than Ezra and Gin Blossoms, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into 3 Doors Down, Alanis Morissette, The Juliana Theory, Garbage and Creed, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 41 connections around Live, reaching back through Talking Heads and forward to 3 Doors Down. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
