Nachtmystium is a Black metal act. Their sound grew out of Angelcorpse, The Haunted, Mayhem, Taake and Cradle of Filth. Those roots explain a lot about how Nachtmystium arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Misþyrming, Aara, Mörk Gryning, Blut Aus Nord and Akhlys, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Twilight, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around Nachtmystium, reaching back through Angelcorpse and forward to Twilight.
