Static-X is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ministry, Seether, Soulfly, Dope and The Browning. Those roots explain a lot about how Static-X arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Wayne Static, Dope, Powerman 5000, Coal Chamber and Mudvayne, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bloodsimple, Shadows Fall, Wage War, Jordan Adetunji and Psychostick, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 52 connections around Static-X, reaching back through Ministry and forward to Bloodsimple. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
