Texas is a Alternative rock and Rap act. Their sound grew out of Ashford & Simpson, Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Yvonne Elliman and Alex Hepburn. Those roots explain a lot about how Texas arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Beautiful South, All Saints, Natalie Imbruglia, The Corrs and Annie Lennox, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Matthieu Chedid, Rammstein and Reef, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around Texas, reaching back through Ashford & Simpson and forward to Matthieu Chedid.
