The Four Seasons is a Rock act. Their sound grew out of Vee-Jay Records, Edwin Hawkins, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Jake Holmes and Don't Think Twice, It's All Right. Those roots explain a lot about how The Four Seasons arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Frankie Valli, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, Cliff Richard, Jay & The Americans and The Righteous Brothers, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mary Jane Girls, Dreamhouse, Adrian Baker, Pet Shop Boys and Ronan Keating, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 48 connections around The Four Seasons, reaching back through Vee-Jay Records and forward to Mary Jane Girls.
