Spank Rock

Spank Rock is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Amanda Blank, Wordy Rappinghood, L'Trimm, Mos Def and Artifacts. Those roots explain a lot about how Spank Rock arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Amanda Blank, Blackalicious, People Under the Stairs, Antipop Consortium and Lady Sovereign, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Chemical Brothers, Kylie Minogue, Steve Aoki, N.A.S.A. and Mark Ronson, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around Spank Rock, reaching back through Amanda Blank and forward to The Chemical Brothers. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
