Soundgarden

Heavy metal
Heavy metalRap

Soundgarden is a Heavy metal and Rap act. Their sound grew out of Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Slave to the Grind and The Gits. Those roots explain a lot about how Soundgarden arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Chris Cornell, Temple of the Dog, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone and Screaming Trees, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Lostprophets, Cartel, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback and Alice in Chains, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 130 connections around Soundgarden, reaching back through Black Sabbath and forward to Lostprophets. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
