Dope is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of White Zombie, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, N.W.A and Dead or Alive. Those roots explain a lot about how Dope arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Powerman 5000, Soil, Coal Chamber, Spineshank and Wayne Static, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Murderdolls, Machine Head, Static-X, Wednesday 13 and Device, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 60 connections around Dope, reaching back through White Zombie and forward to Murderdolls. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
