Junkie XL

Junkie XL is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Peter Tosh, Anoraak, Lisa Miskovsky, A Little Less Conversation and Curt Smith. Those roots explain a lot about how Junkie XL arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Fluke, Propellerheads, Rom Di Prisco, Juno Reactor and Underworld, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Pharrell Williams, Johnny Marr, The Smiths, Incubus and Danny Elfman, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around Junkie XL, reaching back through Peter Tosh and forward to Pharrell Williams. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
