Foals is a Indie rock and Post-rock act. Their catalogue also touches Rap. Their sound grew out of Everything Everything, TV on the Radio, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine. Those roots explain a lot about how Foals arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as White Lies, Kasabian, Everything Everything, Two Door Cinema Club and The Vaccines, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Everything Everything, The 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, Nothing but Thieves and Tourist History, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 52 connections around Foals, reaching back through Everything Everything and forward to Everything Everything.
