◇ image via WikipediaIncubus
Incubus is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Shudder To Think, Band-Maid, Music, Mike Patton and Aphrodite's Child. Those roots explain a lot about how Incubus arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Alien Ant Farm, Fuel, Hoobastank, Taproot and Candlebox, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Billy Talent, Tal Wilkenfeld, You Me at Six, Brand New and Scarlxrd, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 74 connections around Incubus, reaching back through Shudder To Think and forward to Billy Talent.
